3 Months of 2011- Choices Remain
Life in its Simplicity is Still Simply a Choice!
Roads we tread
| "A Dangerous Path!" Copyright MalekoArts 2011 |
Decisions we dread
Lies we tell
Glimpses of hell
Rivers we cross
Dreams we've lost
Mountains we climb
Those left behind
Paths we take
Choices we make
A destination found
Simply heaven bound
The above photograph was taken on January 2, 2011 in the mountains where I frequently go to ride my mountain bike
and to lose myself. The bible tells us Jesus often went into the wilderness to pray and I find myself doing
the same thing. I find that ideas for me are often birthed in the solitude and simplicity of nature. ~Maleko
Update - Originally posted in January of 2011, one of my goals for the new year was to live my live deliberately and to be conscious of every choice. Knowing that every choice for one thing means a choice against something else and nothing is left unchanged. After three months, this simple fact remains unchanged and has borne itself out both positively and negatively in my life. I encourage everyone to live your life on purpose, engage and always choose for the good against evil but and not allow the fear to rule our choices. A reminder to all that you do have a choice and to choose life! ~Maleko April 2011

The Power of an Idea
Sometimes the ideas come with a power so fully alive
and engrossing that you are swept along with it.
The vision it creates is so overwhelming specific that
you dare not refuse to follow where it may lead.

"The wind in your ears blocks out all traces of doubt
and questions about the path you must now pedal."
Your soul is afire, you mind fully engaged, your body
tingles with anticipation and fear of the unknown only
adds to the certainty that this is your destiny and who
you were created to be and the purpose for you life.
My prayer and hope is that each individual finds this
path to follow for their life. I believe if we all find and
follow that idea and dream for which God purposed
for us we will truly become alive in this life and that is
what this world needs is people who have come alive.
~Maleko

Forever on the Wheel!

Are you living your life forever on the wheel,
just going in circles and never getting ahead?
This design represents the struggles we
encounter in life and the amount of effort
we expend and how it often feels as if we
make little progress.

As I have thought about the evolution of this painting and the thoughts that came later on what it represented. I occurs to me that so often I get a vision or picture in my mind that I try to put down on paper. Sometime later, sometimes much later, during my musings I feel as if God gives me a clear idea into the meaning behind the art and what it might represent. The picture above, strikes me that God said to me that only will you get off or out of the wheel that so often consumes our lives in the pursuit of the next big thing, if you truly surrender your will every day and live for Him and His glory! I believe there are no coincidences.

Pedaling in Flames!

My passion for cycling drives me to not only ride my bike, but also to create designs from this sport.
This colored pencil drawing was done from a photograph of, you guessed it me!
I took away all images of the bike and just left the rider in an aerodynamic position, adding flames flowing out to the rear to emphasize the speed and power!
